Waiver Policy

Our journal Current Research in Nutrition and Food Science offers a waiver program to support authors who may not have access to sufficient funding resources for publication fees. However, we encourage authors to explore and exhaust all possible funding alternatives prior to applying for a waiver. This policy aims to promote fairness while ensuring sustainability in our open-access publication model.

Alternative Funding Requirements

Before applying for a discretionary waiver, authors must thoroughly explore all potential funding options available to them. Possible sources of funding may include:

  • Institutional Funding: Consult with your institution to determine any available publication support funds.
  • Grant Agencies and Research Foundations: Many grant organizations and research foundations provide financial support for publishing charges.
  • Government or External Funding: Some government agencies or other external funding sources offer support for research dissemination.

To verify your efforts in seeking alternative funding, please submit supporting documentation along with your waiver application. Acceptable forms of documentation include:

  • Letters on official letterheads from your librarian, bursar/finance team, or department head, confirming that funding support is unavailable.
  • Written proof or statements indicating that your attempts to secure funding from other sources have been unsuccessful.

For Authors:

Current Research in Nutrition and Food Science offers up to a 20% waiver on the Article Processing Charge (APC) for authors from lower-income and lower-middle-income countries, based on the quality of work and other special considerations.

The journal reserves the right to approve or deny any waiver applications. Decisions regarding waivers will be communicated to the corresponding author within one week of receiving the request.

Waiver Application Process

To request a fee waiver, please email our editorial office at info@foodandnutritionjournal.org  with the following information:

  • Author Details: Full names of the primary author and all co-authors.
  • Institution Details: Full name and address of the affiliated institution.
  • Manuscript Information: The title and abstract of the submitted manuscript.
