Eligibility Criteria

We invite applications from early-career researchers who:

  • PhD holders with 2 to 6 years of post-doctoral experience in nutrition, food science, or related fields.
  • A demonstrated interest in editorial work and peer review.
  • Proven research record with publications in recognized scientific journals.
  • Are motivated to contribute to the quality and integrity of scientific literature.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to contribute effectively to the editorial board.

Selection Procedure

A panel of editors from the CRNFS Editorial Board carefully reviews all applications. The selection process involves:

  • An initial screening of applicants based on their academic credentials and relevant experience.
  • Selected candidates will receive formal invitations to join the Early Career Researcher Editorial Board and will be provided with an onboarding process to ensure smooth integration into their roles. An official appointment letter will be issued, and an agreement outlining the responsibilities of the term will be shared for signing, ensuring that all members commit to their duties and expectations.

As part of the ECR-EB, you will: 

  • Identifying suitable reviewers for submitted manuscripts based on their expertise and research background.
  • Conducting the initial review of submitted manuscripts to ensure that they meet the journal’s formatting guidelines, ethical standards, and scope. This pre-screening process helps streamline the peer review by ensuring that only well-prepared submissions are sent for further evaluation.
  • Evaluating reviewer comments and providing input on manuscript decisions, including recommending acceptance, revision, or rejection.
  • Addressing any ethical or policy-related concerns that may arise during the manuscript review process, ensuring compliance with journal standards.
  • Suggesting relevant topics and authors for potential review articles to enhance the journal’s content.

Membership Review and Continuation
To ensure the continued effectiveness and contribution of the Early Career Researcher Editorial Board, membership will be periodically reviewed based on active participation, timely fulfillment of responsibilities, and engagement in journal activities. Members who do not meet the expected standards of involvement may have their terms reconsidered or concluded early. This process is in place to maintain a dynamic and dedicated editorial team committed to the journal’s success.
